On Friday, the U16, U18, and U20 men’s and women’s volleyball championships finished, under the auspices of the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association (MEVZA). The charming Slovenian town of Portorož hosted the leading teams in these age groups, highlighting an impressive display of youthful talent and competitive spirit.
In the U16 men’s category, the Slovenian team PREDAN/BREGAR emerged victorious, defeating the Czech team NOVOTNY/VOTAVA with a decisive 2:0 win, with sets scored at 21:10 and 21:10.

In the U16 women’s category, the Czech team LAYBEKOVA/MIFKOVA secured a hard-fought victory over the Hungarian team BOROS/PADAR, winning 2:1. Their skillful play and perseverance were key to their success.
The Czech team KNOBLOCHOVA/EBERTOVA delivered an outstanding performance in the U18 women’s category, securing a decisive victory against the Austrian team DE MEERSMAN/LIPPITCH. Their skillful play and teamwork led them to triumph, marking a significant achievement in the tournament.

In the U18 men’s category, the Czech team PLAVUSEK/VOTAVA won a thrilling match against the Austrian team BOYD/KOLEV, securing their victory with a 2:1 score.
In the U20 men’s category, the Hungarian team TARI/VERESS triumphed over the Slovenian team MUGERLI/KOSANC, winning 2:1 in a tightly contested match.
