The main phase of men’s MEVZA Cup ends with two demonstretions of power by the slovenian champion. Before sweeping the croation team from Mladost Zagreb yesterday, ACH Volley Ljubljana also beat Austria’s champion and MEVZA Cup title holder on wednesday 3-0. Needless to say, Ljubljana is definitely the biggest contender to beat at the Final Four.
Finally both austrian and slovenian teams manage to qualify for the final tournament hosted on 15th and 16th of march by SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob in Bleiburg, Austria. Fifth-placed Mladost Zagreb (CRO) and sixth-placed Vegyész RC Kazincbarcika (HUN) this year come out on the short end.
Even two national derbys await us in the semifinals. We can therefore already look forward to a grand final between Slovenia and Austria!
