It is the first time that a World Tour event will take place at the Ládví Beach Volleyball Club. The previous five Prague events took place on the island of Štvanice, and it was there in 2014 that the couple Kristýna Kolocová / Markéta Sluková even celebrated the first Czech victory at a World Tour event.

“This year’s tournament in Prague was meant to be a celebration of Olympic success. Unfortunately, Tokyo did not work out for us as expected due to all the Covid stop signs to our delegation. Also through the loud support of spectators in Prague, I believe that our couples will at least partially get back in the experience and mood of a successful tournament.” hopes Marek Pakosta, chairman of the Czech Volleyball Association and adds: “This year is special for us as Czech volleyball celebrates 100 years and I believe that we will celebrate the round anniversary together with the great results of Czech pairs at Ládví. “
For the Czech stars Ond?ej Perušic and David Schweiner this year’s beach volleyball season has been incredibly busy. In a weekly rhythm the Tokyo Olympics, the European Championships in Vienna and now the World Tour event in Prague followed each other. Therefore they also hope for a strong support from the beach volleyball fans to carry them to another success at home. “There was a very quiet atmosphere at the Olympics, so we are looking forward to the spectators. After a long time, we will show up in Prague and we believe that the stands will be full.”
