The 2021 Beach Volleyball season will be reaching its climax this coming August 11-15 with the much-anticipated A1 EuroBeachVolley 2021 presented by Swatch with Austria’s capital Vienna providing an ideal stage for the stars of the sport to shine. The 32 participating teams per gender will find out the name of their opponents in the pool stage of the competition through the Drawing of Lots scheduled for next Thursday, July 15 at 5 pm CEST, with live streaming available on the CEV’s YouTube channel and official Facebook page.

Less than two weeks ago, the CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Final held in The Hague accounted for the first climax of a still young summer season. There is a lot more to come for Beach Volleyball fans across Europe with the must-watch continental showpiece event due to take place in Vienna downtown shortly after completion of the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
ORF Sport+ will be providing live TV coverage of the DOL from the iconic Vienna City Hall (Wiener Rathaus) – which for many years played host to the annual European Volleyball Gala and DOL for the elite CEV Champions League as well.
CEV President Aleksandar Boricic is among a number of high-profile guests to attend, together with Werner Kogler, Austria’s Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Sport, Marcus Grausam and Helmut Saller, CEOs of A1 Austria and Swatch Austria, respectively, Gernot Leitner, President of the Austrian Volleyball Federation and many more. Austria’s top Beach Volleyball teams Doppler/Horst, Ermacora/Pristauz, Seidl/Waller and Schützenhöfer/Plesiutschnig are due to join the ceremony as well as they hope to achieve success on home soil to make up for their disappointment after they failed to qualify for this year’s Olympics.
Make sure you save the date and tune in to follow the kick-off of this year’s ultimate Beach Volleyball party!
