The second day of the Innsbruck BeachEvent was all about intense duels and red-white-red success. In an euphoric atmosphere on Innsbruck’s market square, three of the Austrian teams were able to secure a place in the semi-finals.
In the women’s competition, four different nations – Austria, Slovenia, Hungary andthe Czech Republic – will be in the semi-finals tomorrow. Austria is deservedly represented by the duo Berger/Hohenauer, who defeated the Slovakian duo Tokosova/Terenova today with a 2:0 victory. For the second Austrian duo Rabitsch/Trailovic, the quarter-final against Kotnik/Marolt was unfortunately the end of theline today, but they bid farewell to the competition with a strong tournament performance.

In the men’s final, the mood is twofold: both Grössig/Trummer and Friedl/Schnetzer are in top form. Grössig/Trummer defeated Klemen/Sponer with a clear 2:0 victory, while Friedl/Schnetzer also beat the duo Ertl/Trauth 2:0. The two Austrian duos Friedl/Schnetzer and Trösser/Trummer will play an all-Austrian semi-final tomorrow and fight for a place in the final.

But it wasn’t just the sport that provided excitement. With almost 30 degrees, plenty of sunscreen and a good mood, the arena became a real beach oasis. The hot temperatures were countered with water hoses and cool drinks, while the DJs and entertainment team provided the right sound. Spontaneous dance interludes and la-ola waves made the atmosphere unforgettable. A day that sparked enthusiasm beyond the sport.
