Baden, Austria. Laurenz Leitner and Laurenc Grössig remain the main hope of home glory for Team Austria at the 2021 edition of #EuroBeachVolleyU22 in Baden. The Austrians claimed a second straight victory in their pool on Friday morning before losing to a team from Israel in three sets in a matchup determining the eventual winners of the group.

The Austrian top duo in action
Ben Stockhammer/Jacob Kitzinger have reached the knockout stage of the men’s competition as well after recording a victory over Spanish opposition. The third Austrian team in the event, Theo Reiter and Timo Hammarberg lost three matches in a row without winning a single set.
“The young Timo and Theo played well as a team but unfortunately did not advance any further in this competition. However, we take the experience and lessons with us. Ben and Jacob have made it out of the group with their victory. Despite good tactics and good technique, Laurenz and Laurenc lost their last match in their pool.”
