Womens MEVZA-Season started with the first three matches alreday three weeks ago. The complete first round is going to be played between next Wednesday and Sunday. In Maribor home team Nova KBM Branik Maribor is hosting Austrias national champion Sokol Post NÖ, VK UP Olomouc from Czech Republic and Linamar Békéscsabai RSE from Hungary. In the second tournament on coming weekend Mladost Zagreb will play against Fatum Nyíregyháza (Hungary) and second Hungarian Team Vasas Óbuda Budapest. The third and final tournament of the first round is held in Bratislava. Sláviá EU Bratislava, Strabag VC Bratislava and Calcit Volley Kamnik from Slovenia entering the MEVZA stage in Slovakia. “As we are at the very beginning of the season nothing is predictable. I think that after this weekend we will have an idea who will go for the title this year”, MEVZA president Karl Hanzl said. In his position as manager of Austrias champion Sokol he added: “Last year we couldn’t show up what we expected, I’m sure to do much better this year.”
The matches played at the beginning of October VK UP Olomouc could secure two wins, Fatum Nyíregyháza beat Sláviá EU Bratislava.
