OK Calcit KAMNIK (SLO) secured their fifth MEVZA League win in a row. On Wednesday night, Gregor Jeroncic’s team needed 63 minutes to celebrate a clean sweep (25-18, 25-19, 25-23) over bottom of the table SK UVC Holding GRAZ (AUT) on home soil.
Therefore, Calcit Volley moved up to third place in the current standing on 19 points, leapfrogging SK Zadruga AICH/DOB (AUT). Austria’s heavyweight and the Slovenian side are competing for a spot at the Final Four tournament. AICH/DOB will be hosting Calcit Volley next Sunday!
KAMNIK’s Mitja Gasparini topped the match scorers on 18 points, including three aces, while Johannes Kratz registered 13 for the away team. The match stats underline the superiority of the winning side: attack 63% vs 44%, winning blocks 10 vs 3, aces 7 vs 5 and opponent errors 24 each.
The Final Four tournament will be hosted by Union Raiffeisen WALDVIERTEL, scheduled for February 27 and 28 at the Zwettl sports hall.
