In Nova Gorica, we watched a match between the home team Gen-I Volley and the Maribor team OTP Banka Branik. The guests dominated in all three sets, winning the match with a score of 3:0. The home team fought back the hardest in the last set, leading several times, but they always fell short of making a comeback. For the home team, Melissa Langegger was the most successful player with 16 points, while Nika Milosic scored 13 points for Maribor.
„Despite the defeat, I can say that we showed a higher level of play than before. The Maribor team somehow forced us to take a step further, so we need to continue in this direction. I think they were the better opponents in all aspects this time, and that’s why they won deservedly“, said Pia Blazic Gen-i Volley player.
„We faced the Gen-i Volley team for the first time this season, and I can say that we prepared well for our opponents. It’s true that it wasn’t an easy match, but at crucial moments, we elevated all aspects of our game to a higher level. In the third set, there was a noticeable drop in our play, but with strong serves and focus, we turned the set and the match in our favor“, told Nika Milosic, OTP Banka Branik player.
