Baden, Austria. This coming Saturday, August 1, starting from 9:00 am, the organisers of the World Tour 1-Star Baden Open will start selling tickets for the event due to run from August 19 to 23 – with a very limited contingent available due to the restrictions still in place to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
“Due to the COVID-19 guidelines, we are only allowed to host a maximum of 200 visitors,” explains Vision05 managing director Dominik Gschiegl. Tickets will be available online at the following address: www.beachvolleyball-baden.at.
This time, the Weilburgpark will be playing host to the tournament – and not the iconic Strandbad. There will be no grandstands, but only deckchairs and standing areas. The organisers have decided to downscale the entertainment programme as well, with the focus on media coverage rather than on the traditional on-site party atmosphere. However, there will be a VIP area again.

After winning bronze last year, Austrian twins Nadine and Teresa Strauss want to improve on that result at the 2020 edition of the Baden Open
There are two ticket categories, i.e. ordinary and VIP ones, but there are no assigned seats. The Baden Open will start on August 19 with the country quotas followed a day later by the qualification round, with the price for tickets to attend these first competition days standing at € 19. As for the Main Draw, tickets cost € 29 for the matches due to take place from August 21 to 23. An even smaller number of VIP tickets allowing access to the Strandbad as well as to the VIP lounge is available for € 129.
“We are aware that due to the limited number of visitors, unfortunately many Beach Volleyball fans will not get a ticket this year. We love Beach Volleyball and would have loved to set up a large stadium and everything else as usual, but this is already a much better solution than to play without any fans,” says Gschiegl.
For those who cannot get a ticket, ORF Sport + will broadcast the event live on August 22 and 23, with streaming of all matches available on LAOLA1.at as well as on www.beachvolleyball-baden.at.
