In both divisions, men and women, three teams still unbeaten after the second round of this years´ MEVZA Cup. While Nova KBM Branik Maribor (SLO), Mladost Zagreb (CRO) and Strabag VC Bratislava so far did not lose a match, the top of the table is in the hands of Czech top team from VK UP Olomouc. The girls from Olomouc secured four wins and lost only against current runner up from Maribor. Linamar Békéscsabai RSE (HUN), the team who won the group stage last year, started with two losses against Olomouc and Maribor, took only points against Austrians number one from Sokol Post NÖ.
In the Men-Division also Slovenia is on top. Last years winner, ACH Volley Ljubljana, did not lose a single set, having an impressive 4 – 0 wins, 12 – 0 set-statistic which shows them on second place right now. With one match more played, SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob is currently leading the table. Austrians won all five games so far; two times they had to play a fifth set. Second Slovenian top team, Calcit Volley Kamnik, also shows up with a 4 – 0, they lost just one set against third Slovenian team from Kranj.
MEVZA Cup is going to be continued from the 15th of November with three matches in the women competition. From 24th to 26th of November third round of men competition will be played in Bleiburg (AUT), Kamnik (SLO) and Košice (SVK).
