The first MEVZA Women’s Beach Volleyball Club Championship was recently held at Ludus Beach Park in Ljubljana, featuring ten teams from six different countries. The tournament introduced a new format with two pools of five teams playing on two courts, resulting in many exciting and closely contested matches, with several ending in tie breaks.
The tournament was not just a display of great volleyball skills, but also showcased fair play, with no cards given by the referees throughout the entire event. The hosts, Ludus, emerged as the champions, defeating Beach Club Patronka Slovakia in the final, while Telocvicna jednota Sokol Brno secured third place.

MEVZA president Valentina Bifflin and Sport director Frane Zanic presented the medals and trophies to the winners, underscoring the significance of the tournament. It was an excellent platform for the participating teams to showcase their talents and prepare for the upcoming summer season.
In conclusion, Anja Macek from Ludus expressed her satisfaction with the tournament, stating that they played with optimism and good spirits, which paid off. Congratulations were also extended to all the other teams who participated in the event. The MEVZA Women’s Beach Volleyball Club Championship was a great success and holds enormous potential for the future.
