LJUBLJANA – ACH Volley Ljubljana and Merkur Maribor met in Ljubljana in the return match of the semi-finals of the Central European Mevza Championship. As in the match a week ago, the Slovenian champions Volley Ljubljana were the better team, winning 3-0 (25-22, 25-12, 25-16).
Maribor played very good in opening set but that didn’t stop Ljubljana to win it anyways.
The second set saw a great start by Ljubljana. They gained early big lead which by the end of a set became massive 13 point gap.
The third set started similarly to the second. Third set was similar to a second one. Early big lead which was just growing throughout the match. In the end Ljubljana won the semifinal match with 6-1 set difference, and their head coach Radovan Gacic was happy about the teams performance.
“We made our job easier today with a strong serve and made it impossible for our opponent to play. I am satisfied with the performance of the boys, who were focused throughout the whole match and were a level better opponent. I’m glad that the lesser players also got a chance to play and made good use of it”, said Gacic.
