HEP continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering a strong sports culture within the company, celebrating employees who embody dedication, discipline and a passion for excellence. One of the most remarkable examples is Renata Novosel of HEP Elektra, who has once again achieved outstanding success on the international stage.
Renata Novosel, Head of the Business Improvement Department at HEP Elektra and member of the Karlovac Athletics Club, secured her third European Masters long jump title at the European Masters Championships held in October 2025 on the Portuguese island of Madeira. With this gold medal, she successfully defended her title and reaffirmed her position as one of Croatia’s most distinguished masters athletes.
A world record holder in the W55–59 category and the most successful Croatian female masters athlete, Novosel demonstrated her dominance early in the competition. With an opening jump of 4.96 metres, she set a mark that proved unreachable for the rest of the field. This achievement adds to her already impressive career and marks her third European gold medal.
Her exceptional form in Madeira followed an outstanding performance earlier in the season. At the 34th Balkan Masters Championships in Varaždin, held in late August, Novosel earned five gold medals and set three new championship records. Despite difficult weather conditions, she surpassed five metres in the long jump, the second-best result in the world this season within her age category.
It is worth noting that Novosel returned to competition after a year and a half due to injury, making her accomplishments this season even more remarkable. Her journey is a testament to perseverance, commitment and an unwavering belief in continuous improvement.
Through athletes like Renata Novosel, HEP continues to showcase the strength of its internal sports community and its long-standing belief that sport builds both a healthy body and a healthy spirit.
