Mladost ZAGREB made up for their 2-3 loss at the hands of BUDVA Volley last week to claim a 3-1 victory (19-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22) on home soil and secure their place in Round 2 of the #CLVolleyM 2022.

The players of Mladost ZAGREB erupt in joy following their home victory
“We could see from the first match that these teams are equal; we had our chances there but we did not use them. Today’s match was very nervous from the start on both sides of the net. I knew we could play much better than we did last week – but BUDVA made fewer mistakes than in the last match too. I am happy with qualifying to the next round – we were leading 2-1 and we controlled the fourth set before we made some mistakes and they came back, but luckily we found a way to win the match.”
Radovan Gacic
Head coach of Mladost ZAGREB
“I want to congratulate my teammates on this victory. We started a bit nervous, because the pressure was on us as we had lost the previous match 2-3 last week in Budva. We started to play much better in the second set, putting pressure with our serve and adjusting the block. We are happy with making it to the second round and we will now focus on our next matches with the Czech team.”
Bernard Bakonji
Setter of Mladost ZAGREB

Aleksandar Gmitrovic, player of BUDVA Volley: “Congratulations to Mladost on their victory. They played extremely smart in the most important moments of the match, whilst we made some errors – and this explain the eventual result and Mladost’s victory.”
