The 2025 MEVZA Men’s Beach Volleyball Tournament officially began today in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. This three-day event gathers elite male beach volleyball athletes from the MEVZA region. Ten confirmed teams are competing in the main draw, with additional pairs fighting for their place through qualification.
Participating countries include Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Israel, and Austria, showcasing the diversity and strength of the Middle European beach volleyball.

The qualification phase took place on Friday with eight teams battling for a spot in the main draw. Among the standout performances, Vala/Dostal from the Czech Republic secured their place with back-to-back wins, including a 2-0 victory over Petro/Marcok (SVK) in the second round.
Another thrilling match featured Brnak/Olsansky (CZE) narrowly edging out Pala/Sotola (CZE) 2-1, earning their way into Saturday’s main draw.
Today’s opening also welcomed a significant official presence. MEVZA President Valentina Bifflin attended the tournament in person. During her visit, she met with the President and Secretary General of the Luxembourg Volleyball Federation to discuss regional development and cooperation in promoting beach volleyball across the MEVZA member nations.

With high-level competition already underway and more thrilling matches ahead, the MEVZA Men’s Tournament in Luxembourg promises a weekend of top-tier beach volleyball and strong regional camaraderie.
