Following the successful U18 and U20 tournaments, the beautiful beach of Portorož, Slovenia, hosted another exciting event – the MEVZA U16 Beach Volleyball Championship, held from July 6 to 8.
The three-day competition brought together the region’s youngest beach volleyball talents in a spirited and high-quality tournament. With strong support from travelling fans, the atmosphere was electric as teams gave their best on the sand.
In the women’s final, the Czech pair Dufkova/Entlicherova delivered a dominant performance, defeating Hungary’s Kis/Muranyi in straight sets (21:13, 21:12) to take home the gold medal.

The bronze medal went to another Czech team, Jandova/Sediva, who overcame Slovakia’s Ochrankova/Viecha in two sets (21:17, 21:13).
Czechia also showed their depth in the men’s tournament. In an all-Czech final, Nowotny/Votava prevailed over Kudrnac/Suchanek in an intense match, winning 2:0 (28:26, 21:13) and securing the gold.

The bronze medal match saw Lozancic/Olja Vidovic from Croatia edge out Slovenia’s Storman/Zohar in a three-set thriller (21:15, 12:21, 15:12).
