The Slovak Volleyball Federation (SVF) held on Sunday elections for the Presidency as well as for their Board of Administration in the city of Poprad, with the term covering the next four years. After the delegates cast their votes, Marek Rojko became the sixth president in the history of the organisation since the break-up of the former Czechoslovakia in 1993.

The 44-year-old former coach of the women’s national team and sports director of the federation secured 46 of the 55 votes at stake and replaced Martin Krašcenic, who was not a candidate this time, as the first man of Slovak Volleyball.
“I appreciate every vote, 46 votes mean a lot of trust and an offer for cooperation from the whole movement. I believe that we will find a way to get closer to each other and cooperate. We have a lot of work to do for our beloved sport to grow in our country.”

The members of the Board of Administration had their first in-person meeting following the General Assembly held in Poprad
The newly elected president also outlined his basic vision: “I believe that we will at least maintain our current position in the rankings for national teams and in some categories we will even be able to progress. We also have a lot of work to do in terms of Club Volleyball.”
The delegates attending the conference also elected new members of the SVF Board of Administration. For the next four years, as a members of the Board will serve Michaela Cibulová (Beach Volleyball), Eva Koseková (Youth Volleyball), Alena Bieliková (Regional Volleyball), Pavol Mancák (legislative issues) while Peter Kalný, Štefan Hank, Luboš Cerven and Adriána Marceková will represent the coaches, referees, extraleague clubs and players, respectively.
The first session of the Board of Administration took place right after the elections.
