Cancun, Mexico. The third event in a row in the Cancun Hub has also begun for the MEVZA teams. From the 5 teams that entered, 4 started in the Qualification event and 2 of them succeeded to join the already qualified Hermannova/Slukova (CZE) in the main draw.
Kubickova/Kvapilova (CZE) had a tough 1st Round match-up in the local team. After winning with 16-14 in the 3rd set, they won in straight sets in their second round match against the Canadians.
Austrians Christoph Dressler and Alexander Huber, who made the trip to Cancun only for the third event, had a great start in Mexico as they qualified with a 2-0 (21-14, 21-18) victory against Canada’s Aaron Nusbaum and Michael Plantinga.
The two Israeli duos Dave/Starikov and Faiga/Ohana were a bit less fortunate losing their 1st round matches against Cuba and Switzerland.

The main draw starts on Thursday in Cancun and all matches will be streamed live on the Beach Volleyball World Youtube channel. Subscribe, log in and set reminders to receive notifications when streams begin.
