Ljubljana, Slovenia. The head coach of the Slovenian women’s national team, Alessandro Chiappini has announced the names of the 18 players who will join the preparations for the upcoming CEV EuroVolley 2021 qualifiers and the CEV European Silver League 2021.
Italian Alessandro Chiappini, who has been at the helm of Team Slovenia since 2017, will gather the girls on April 12 in Kranjska Gora, where the team will prepare for two weeks and then head to Austria for their first friendly match, followed by additional such games with Hungary and Croatia.
Slovenia’s national team will travel to Daugavpils, Latvia on May 5 and play the first round of the EuroVolley qualifiers there against Latvia, Czech Republic, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. A week later, these teams will meet again in Zenica (BIH). Slovenia’s campaign in the CEV European Silver League will follow at the end of May in Luxembourg and in the beginning of June in Maribor, which will be hosting the Final Four tournament as well from June 11 to 13.
The goals set by the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia and Alessandro Chiappini are clear – a second consecutive appearance at CEV EuroVolley and to win the European Silver League, which would give them the right to contest the Golden League in 2022.
