Istanbul, Turkey. On Tuesday, OK Kaštela (CRO) could not stop a flying THY Istanbul in the first of two matches against THY Istanbul played at the Y?l Deniz Esinduy Volleyball Hall ISTANBUL and scheduled for the 16th Finals of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup.
THY ISTANBUL of Turkey triumphed 3-0 in the first of two consecutive matches against OK KAŠTELA of Croatia. The two-time BVA Cup champions ran away comfortable winners with a 25-16, 25-7, 25-12 score line as the hosts wore black ribbons on their shirts to pay tribute to the 82nd anniversary since the death of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Polen Ünver (Uslupehlivan, pictured above) was the top scorer of the game with 14 points, as Ebrar Karakurt and Ada Germen recorded 13 and 10 points, respectively. Team captain Nika Stanovic was the most prolific player for the visitors on a tally of eight points. The re-match will be taking place at TVF 50. Y?l Deniz Esinduy Volleyball Hall on Wednesday, November 11 at 17:00 local time with live broadcasting available on TRT Spor-2.
