CEV, Luxembourg. With the 1st Round of CEV Champions League Volley 2021 kicking off yesterday for both the men and women’s competitions, with two very entertaining matches, today the round continues with a lot more to offer to volleyball fans.
No less than six matches are scheduled to take place today in as many venues around Europe, with all of them being streamed live on CEV’s EuroVolley.TV.
Pool A – Zagreb (CRO)
With Mladost Zagreb forfeiting their spot in the competition due to their current squad situation, Fino KAPOSVAR VC and Erzeni SHIJAKUT are now the only teams left fighting for a spot in the next round of the competition from Pool A. A great start today would mean a huge advantage taken going into the return match, scheduled to take place next week.
Pool B – Galati (ROU)
After OK Ribola KASTELA was unable to present Covid-19 test results, they forfeited their opening match against C.S.M. Arcada GALATI. Thus, the importance of the match today, which has become the opening match of Pool B, is not to be neglected by any of the two teams if they are to stay in the race for qualification to the next round.
Pool C – Jastrz?bie-Zdrój (POL)
Despite a very good performance in the opening match of Pool C, Stroitel MINSK had to leave the court empty handed (0-3 defeat against Jastrzebski Wegiel). Will they take the good performance and match fitness into their second match? We will be finding out late today on EuroVolley.TV!
CEV Champions League Volley Women – 1st Round
Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI opened this new season of Champions League Volleyball with a win against Tent OBRENOVAC from Serbia and today they will have the chance of ensuring their spot in the next round of the competition, unless the Serbians find a way of overturning yesterday’s result.
Elsewhere, experienced teams in European club competitions are also set to enter the court today in their first matches of the new campaign, with Vasas Óbuda BUDAPEST taking on Dinamo MOSCOW in our Match of the Day, streamed on EuroVolley.TV an CEV Youtube Channel – European Volleyball, and SC “Prometey” KAMYANSKE going against Khimik YUZHNY.
