In the third leg of the men’s CEV Champions League, ACH Volley LJUBLJANA suffered a 1-3 (26-24, 20-25, 19-25, 16-25) away loss at the hands of Fakel NOVY URENGOY (RUS) on Tuesday. Therefore, Slovenia’s dominant team for many years still sit on the fourth spot in the current standing in Pool B with a 1-2 win-loss record now.
“We made some stupid mistakes in the first set, but we won it. After that, we had to spend a lot of energy to catch up with the hosts. Fakel’s Egor Kliuka and Krisztian Padar played very physical volleyball, we did not find answers against these two guys”, ACH Volley head coach Matija Plesko explained.
Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR (SLO) still have to wait for a feeling of success in the women’s CEV Champions League group stage after sustaining another 0-3 loss. Lorena Lorber Gijok and her team-mates stood no chance (16-25, 22-25, 16-25) against pool leaders Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI (ITA).
