This year’s General Assembly of MEVZA took place in Vienna on the 14th of November. Presidents and Secretary Generals from six of the seven member countries attended the Meeting in “Komensky School”. Lead by former and new president Karl Hanzl, MEVZA is having a straight look forward. “In the last two years we strengthen our organization in all aspects and started an ambitioned and essential change project. A lot of initiatives are started and we can look straight forward”, president Hanzl opened the Meeting. After a brief presentation of the past and a promising look into the future by the old board members, the election for the following period brought all unanimously results for president and vice presidents.
The representatives of MEVZA-Countries showed great interest in developing the portfolio of MEVZA together, starting with a fruitful discussion in Vienna – with two further meetings fixed in January and February. This dates should be used to work together on strategies for Beachvolleyball and the MEVZA Cup. “The countries of MEVZA representing a very interesting geographical region with attractive business options for sponsors and partners. Completed with volleyball as a congenial and attractive sport MEVZA is looking into a very promising future, when all interested parties sticking together for the improvement of our sport”, Gernot Leitner, president of hosting Federation from Austria, added.
