This week heralds the commencement of the MEVZA underage tournament, a pivotal event in the volleyball calendar. From January 10th to 12th, Maribor will host the U18 Women’s teams as they compete for a direct qualification to the U18 European Championships slated for this summer.
The U18 women’s category in the MEVZA tournament features seven national teams: Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Slovenia, and Slovakia. These teams are divided into two pools for the competition. Pool I includes the national teams of Slovenia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, while Pool II comprises Slovakia, Croatia, Israel, and Austria.
Simultaneously, from January 11th to 13th, Zadar in Croatia will host the MEVZA U18 men’s tournament. This event will see the participation of national teams from Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Hungary, Israel, and Slovenia. The men’s teams are also split into two pools: Pool I features the national teams of Croatia, Austria, and Israel, and Pool II includes the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary, and Cyprus.
