MYJAVA – In an impressive showing at the second MEVZA tournament held in Myjava, Croatian team Ribola secured a 3-1 victory over Slovakian team Komarno.
Ivan Rancic, the head coach of OK Ribola, shared his thoughts on the game: “We significantly improved our play compared to the last match. I believe our team had ample time to recover and prepare for this one. Noticing that Komarno wasn’t playing with their top opposite Mlynarcik, we recognized our chance for a win. I firmly believe we earned today’s victory.”
Richard Vlkolinsky, head coach of Rieker UJS Komarno, analyzed the match from his team’s perspective: “The turning point for us was losing the second set, where we committed a string of errors that allowed the opponent to gain momentum. Falling behind 2-0, we struggled to shift the match in our favor. I also felt that our team could have shown more fighting spirit to stand a chance against Kastela.”
This match highlights the competitive spirit and tactical plays in the MEVZA tournament, setting the stage for more exciting volleyball action.
