MEVZA League – Mladost ZAGREB successful in men’s and women’s competition

In the men’s MEVZA League, HAOK Mladost ZAGREB celebrated a hard-fought 3-2 (25-18, 22-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-11) home win over Final Four tournament hosts SK Zadruga AICH/DOB on Monday.

Therefore, Croatia’s reigning national champions increased their points to 13 from seven matches they have contested so far. Already on Thursday and Friday HAOK Mladost ZAGREB will be facing Union Raiffeisen WALDVIERTEL. The ‘Nordmänner’ are sitting in fourth place in the current standing on 16 points.

In the women’s competition later that evening, HAOK Mladost ZAGREB emerged victorious from their clash with bottom of the table VB NÖ SOKOL/POST, defeating the Final Four tournament hosts 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 22-25, 25-18). “This was a very important win. The next difficult match is already waiting at Maribor on Wednesday. We definitely want to qualify for the Final Four tournament,” HAOK Mladost ZAGREB’s head coach Leonar Baric said. His team is in third place now on nine points, resulting from three wins and three losses.
