Union Raiffeisen WALDVIERTEL claimed their second win in an Austrian derby this MEVZA League season. On Saturday evening, the ‘Nordmänner’ emerged victorious from their clash with UVC Holding GRAZ, celebrating a hard-fought 3-1 (25-16, 25-21, 24-26, 25-23) victory on home soil.
As a result, Union Raiffeisen WALDVIERTEL have moved up to third place in the current standing on six points, while the MEVZA League rookies UVC Holding GRAZ have not been able to collect a single point from the four matches they have contested so far.

“We were the better team in the first two sets. In the third, UVC Holding GRAZ made some good changes, while, on the other hand, we made too many mistakes. Fortunately, we got back on track and we were able to secure three very important points for the standing”, URW outside hitter Marek Sulc said.
Tiago Pereira (POR) from UVC Holding GRAZ topped the scorers’ chart on a tally of 23 points, as Sulc (CZE) hammered 19 for the winning team.
