Mladost Zagreb, CEZ Karlovarsko and ACH Volley Ljubljana for the semifinals of CEV European Cups

Middle European teams will be represented on four different CEV European Cups fronts this week. The women of Liberec and Nyiregyhaza will be looking for their first wins in the Champions League pool play stage. After winning the first match in Poland, Mladost Zagreb will be looking to conclude an upset of the powerhouse Lodž in front of their home crowd. Karlovarsko in the CEV Cup and Ljubljana in the Challenge Cup will first travel to their opponents to France and Portugal, before hosting them the following week.

Dukla Liberec and Fatum Nyiregyhaza are currently sitting on the bottom of their respective pools and will also both host the currently second ranked teams in it. Dinamo Moscow is coming to Czech Republic while Grupa Azoty Chemik Police is headed to Hungary. Following the amount of upsets happening in the last weeks, why should not Liberec and Nyiregyhaza be the next and bring down one of the absolute top teams in the world of volleyball.

Mladost Zagreb delivered a great and spectacular win in the first match in Lodž putting themselves in a favourable position to advance to the semifinal of the CEV Cup. With the win abroad in 5 sets, any kind of a win at home would have them progress. In case Zagreb would win only 2 sets, a golden set would determine the overall winner.

CEZ Karlovarsko will meet the current leader of the French Ligue A, Tours VB, who just in the previous round eliminated the heavy favourited Italian Perkinelmer Leo Shoes Modena. However, also Karlovarsko proved its great form eliminating Galatasaray Istanbul in the past weeks.
Similar to Karlovarsko, ACH Volley Ljubljana is also looking to its first quarterfinal match this week. In the CEV Challenge Cup, Ljubljana will also first play away and will as well be meeting a leader of its respective national championship. At the Portuguese archipelago they will go against A.J. Fonte Bastardo Azores, before the home match the following week.
