Baden, Austria. On Thursday, competition at the CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup event in Baden will start with the women’s matches and more specifically with those featuring home stars Katharina Schützenhöfer/Lena Plesiutschnig and Nadine Strauss/Teresa Strauss.

The Austrians will know the names and nationality of their first opponents on Wednesday night. The men’s action at the Olympic qualifying event in the outskirts of Vienna will commence on Friday. Team Austria are looking forward to the tournament on home soil with much confidence and excitement. Germany and Italy are the strongest opponents for Austria in the women’s competition at the Weilburgpark in Baden – as stressed by their coaching staff.
EuroBeachVolley 2019 bronze medal winners Martin Ermacora/Moritz Pristauz and Robin Seidl/Philipp Waller will most likely find in Switzerland and Poland their toughest opposition in the men’s competition.
The top five nations will progress to the final stage of the Continental Cup scheduled for June 23-26 in The Hague (NED) – where the eventual winners will punch a ticket to the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
