The Super Finals held in Verona this past Saturday represented the first major Volleyball event delivered since the outbreak of the global health crisis. With the Super Finals coinciding with the climax of the European Cups season, fans can now look forward to the next major Volleyball showdown – the CEV EuroVolley 2021 coming up later this summer across as many as eight countries.

CEV President Aleksandar Boricic and EuroVolley 2021 ambassador Zlatko Mateša
In an effort to raise the profile of the competition even further and to promote it as extensively as possible, CEV President Aleksandar Boricic appointed this past Saturday two high-profile EuroVolley ambassadors in a ceremony held shortly before the start of the women’s and men’s finals in Verona.
EOC Executive Committee member and President of the National Olympic Committee of Croatia Zlatko Mateša will be acting as such towards the Olympic family – while Krasen Kralev, Bulgaria’s Minister of Youth and Sports will be playing a similar role towards the EU institutions.
Croatia and Bulgaria are among the CEV EuroVolley 2021 Women host countries – with matches due to take place in Zadar and Plovdiv, respectively.
The appointment of two such high-ranking officials as EuroVolley ambassadors is testament to the significance of this event not only for the Volleyball family, but for the larger sports community as well. For the second time in history, EuroVolley will unite as many as eight host countries – four per gender – and see the participation of 24 teams in each competition to deliver the real ultimate Volleyball show.
