The 2020-2021 edition of the MEVZA League is going to continue on Wednesday evening, when the current table leaders OK Merkur MARIBOR (SLO) will be hosting bottom of the table UVC Holding GRAZ (AUT). While the Slovenian side wants to take the opportunity to extend their winning streak to five matches in a row, the competition rookies have not been able to collect a single point from the four matches they have contested so far.

The coaching staff of UVC Holding GRAZ cannot count on a full roster due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, most of the team was able to resume training last week after the quarantine. “The game on Wednesday will certainly come too early, but we have to get back into match rhythm. The coming weeks will be very challenging,” so UVC Holding GRAZ assistant coach Zoltan Mozer.
Therefore, the hosts will go into the encounter at the Maribor’s Tabor sports hall as the clear favourites. “After the remarkable away victory at Salonit ANHOVO in the national championship past Saturday, where we have delivered one of the best performances of this season, we aim to secure another win on Wednesday. But we have to take the match very seriously because UVC Holding GRAZ is a strong team as well. They are also able to play good volleyball,” MARIBOR’s head coach Sebastijan Skorc said.
