In a significant update from the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association (MEVZA), the Executive Committee, during its 10th electronic meeting held on November 2-3, 2023, via e-mail voting, has decided to reschedule the dates for the Women’s League Final Four Tournament. The tournament, initially set for 09 – 12 March 2024, will now be held on 02 – 03 March 2024.
This decision, encapsulated in DECISION No. 10/2023/04, comes after the Hungarian National Federation raised concerns about the original dates coinciding with the finals of the Hungarian National Championship. Following a thorough review, the MEVZA EXOM agreed to the proposed date change, ensuring that the Women’s League Final Four Tournament can proceed without conflicting with significant national fixtures.
The rescheduling demonstrates MEVZA’s commitment to harmonizing volleyball schedules across the region, thereby accommodating national league requirements and promoting the sport’s overall growth and success.
It’s also confirmed that the Men’s League Final Four Tournament will retain its original schedule, set to take place on 16 – 17 March 2024. This decision ensures a seamless continuation of the MEVZA tournaments, allowing fans and participants to enjoy a fortnight of high-quality volleyball action without any overlap or scheduling conflicts.
The MEVZA League, an integral part of the European volleyball calendar, continues to foster competition and camaraderie among teams from various countries. With the updated scheduling, MEVZA ensures that both the Men’s and Women’s tournaments receive the attention and competitive atmosphere they deserve.
The organization looks forward to hosting these eagerly awaited events and invites volleyball enthusiasts to mark their calendars for what promises to be an exhilarating start to March 2024.
