The national beach volleyball championship at Lupa Beach has hardly ended and already the 1-star World Tour event and the U18 and U20 MEVZA tournaments are beginning today. Hungary will be competing with more than a dozen teams across the different competition fields.
Thursday marks the beginning for the qualification of both, the men’s and women’s World Tour events and the boys U18 and U20 MEVZA tournaments. Both MEVZA’s age groups will feature a full twelve team bracket.

MEVZA Underage events will feature teams from Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hunagary, Israel, Slovakia and Slovenia. With twelve teams split into pools of three. From the pool play teams advance into the elimination phase, where they continue either in the quarterfinals or the classification matches for places nine to twelve.

Hungary will have a couple of teams in Mikuláss-Koch/Szabó, as well as Petik/Dóczi, who will start in the U20 in addition to the World Tour.

Both girls events, the U18 and U20 will be played on Saturday and Sunday and will even feature 16 pairs in the U18. Similar to the boys, the U20 girls will have a couple of players in Vasvári and Vecsey, who will in addition to the MEVZA tournament also start at the World Tour competition. They are competing in the MEVZA event also as part of their preparation for the U18 European Championship, and the U19 World Championship respectively.
