Defending champions Ach Volley Ljubljana are still unbeaten in this season’s MEVZA League. The ‘Orange Dragons’ went as the clear favourites into the clash with bottom of the table VKP BRATISLAVA on Wednesday evening and they lived up to the role in style. The confident leaders in the current standing needed just 71 minutes to celebrate a clean sweep (25-14, 25-22, 25-17) on home soil.
Ach Volley Ljubljana have not dropped a single point in the eleven matches they have contested so far. Nikola Gjorgiev and Nemanja Masulovic top scored for the hosts with 17 and 13 points, respectively, while Marek Malina and Lubos Kostolani split the best scorer’s honours for the away side with eight points each.
The men’s MEVZA League will already continue on Thursday, when ACH Volley LJUBLJANA will be hosting TJ Spartak MYJAVA. The match-up OK MERKUR MARIBOR vs. VKP BRATISLAVA has been postponed due a COVID-19 outbreak. The women’s competition will be back in action with the clash between VB NÖ SOKOL/POST and Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR.
