Just out of the Christmas festivities and only a few days away from turning the page on another calendar year is once more the period for the Middle European Teams in the U19 Women’s and U20 Men’s categories to determine the strongest national team in the region.

Starting today at 8:30 in the morning with matches between Slovenia and Croatia in both categories, the Middle European Championships begins. A total of 10 National Teams from four different countries will compete in the next three days to determine the winners.

Both men and women have five teams competing. Next to Austria, Croatia, Hungary and Slovenia, there is also a second younger team in each category from the host country Slovenia on start. Teams are all in the same pool and will face each opponent once. After playing each opponent once and determining the pool standings, both categories will play semifinal and final matches. Semifinals will feature matches between the 1st and 4th seed from pool play and the 2nd and 3rd seed. Bronze and Gold Medal matches will be played out in the morning of Thursday, 30th December.
