The top 24 women’s teams in Europe will know what their CEV EuroVolley 2021 journey will look like on Thursday evening through the Drawing of Lots due to take place at the iconic Belgrade City Hall, with fans able to follow the event via the live streaming available on the CEV’s YouTube channel and Facebook page from 8 pm CEST.

The four host countries – Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania – will head the pool that they will be hosting when competitions gets underway later this summer. Moreover, right before the start of the DOL, we will know which team each of the four hosting National Federations have chosen to play against – as per the right resulting from a decision made by the CEV Board of Administration in December of 2019.
This means the actual DOL will involve 16 teams – qualified through the results they achieved in the 2019 edition of the marquee continental event for national teams or the qualifiers that ended only a few days ago. There will be four cups comprising of four teams each – with these regrouped according to their position in the latest European Ranking for women’s national teams and drawn accordingly to slowly but surely complete the composition of Pools A, B, C and D.

The eagerly anticipated competition will get underway on August 18 in Plovdiv (BUL) and Cluj-Napoca (ROU), with matches in Belgrade (SRB) and Zadar (CRO) due to start a day later.
The event at Belgrade City Hall will feature four of the CEV EuroVolley 2021 Women Ambassadors – namely Maja Ognjenovic, Elitsa Vasileva, Samanta Fabris and Nneka Onyejekwe, all sharing the same excitement of contesting the most prestigious competition on home soil – and hopefully, if the pandemic subsides, before a number of enthusiastic fans as well!
