“After two matches it is much too early to make any conclusions, but I am glad with the level we dis played today, even in the third set when we were behind 1-4. We served well throughout the entire game, OK Maribor had troubles in receiving and this made the job a bit easier for us. I have to congratulate youngster Rok Mozic, he played some difficult balls very well. All in all, for now we can be satisfied”, Calcit Volley head coach Marko Brumen explained.

Sebastjan Skorc, head coach of OK Maribor said, “Calcit Volley fully fulfilled the favourite role. Throughout the match, they put pressure on us with their serve, for which we could not find solutions. They made it obvious that their win against ACH Volley Ljubljana in the season opener was no coincidence. If Calcit Volley is playing that way, they are unbeatable. We can only congratulate them!”
Miha Bregar and Milosz Hebda topped the match scorers on a total of 14 points each, while Rok Mozic recorded 13 points in the Slovenian derby for the away side.
Mladost Zagreb will be facing Mladost Brcko on Friday. Croatia’s national champions slumped to a 2-3 loss at home ground against Mladost Ribola Kastela in the first round but in the previous week, they celebrated a stunning sweep at Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel. Newcomers Brcko, Bosnia’s top team and Champions League participants as well, started their first MEVZA League campaign with a hard-fought home win over last season’s runners-up SK Zadruga Aich/Dob.
The third MEVZA League men’s match this week is going to take place at the Gradska hall in Kastela. Mladost Ribola will welcome ACH Volley Ljubljana. Both sides have recorded one victory so far.
