ZAGREB – Men‘s volleyball teams Mladost Zagreb and Mursa played against each other in the last game of MEVZA tournament in Zagreb.
Mladost emerged victorious on their home soil. Team from Zagreb won 3-2 (18-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-22, 22-20) after very thrilling match.
Mursa played better in the first set and won it 25-18. In second set, Mladost made some adjustments which helped them to take the second set 25-21 and tie the score.
Mursa played better again in the third set and they managed to win it 25-22 and take 2-1 set lead. Mladost opend the fourth set badly, but after their coach called time-out, Mladost started to play much better and they were able to win this set 25-22 and tie the score.
In the deciding set Mladost and Mursa were following in each others footsteps, but Mladost proved to be the better team when game was on the line and won the fifth set 22-20. This game had everything and players from both teams can be proud of how they played.
“We knew this game would be very tough. When we were preparing for the game I knew Mursa was a great team. I knew that the game would be decided by one or two plays. I think it was fair that we won, but also it wouldn?‘t be undeserving if they won. Because we had some injured players I used all the possibilities that I had and congratulations to my players. This was a real team win”, said Ratko Peris, head coach of Mladost Zagreb.
