MARIBOR – Men’s volleyball team from Slovenia Merkur Maribor finished the MEVZA tournament played in front of their crowd with another win.
For the second time in three days, Merkur Maribor did not drop a set. Slovenian team won 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-22) against Austrian VCA Amstetten NO. Even though the score doesn’t say so, match was very thrilling. All three sets were decided during final few points.
Merkur Maribor’s head coach Sebastijan Škorc was not hiding his excitement after the match.
“Congratulations to the boys for a good game, for the fact that we managed to win every set in the very end with a block. For such a young team, it’s a great thing that the heads were right and in the right place, even in such tight playoffs”, said Škorc.
After two games played in MEVZA league, Maribor is one of three teams who didn’t get the taste of the defeat, while Amstetten doesn’t have a victory.
