ZWETTL – ACH Volley Ljubljana and Rieker UJS Komarno met on the second day of MEVZA tournament at the Stadthalle Zwettl.
The Slovenian team managed to win against Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel on the first day, while Komarno missed their chance against Mladost Zagreb.
Volley Ljubljana was able to win 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-19), even though Komarno played better than the final score says. The current Slovak champions pressured their opponents a lot with their service and every now and then, they managed to overcome the block of the experienced Slovene team. Eventually, Ljubljana found their rhythm and secured the win in three sets.
“Komarno played surely better than first match. They served well and they improved overall. Some younger players from our team got the chance to perform, which was an important learning experience for them. Now we will rest so we can win another match”, said Volley Ljubljana coach Radovan Ga?i?.
“In first game we were not able to play our level, we made a lot of unforced errors. In this game aim was to pressure with serve, so we can stop Ljubljana with our block, but they reacted well and were able to secure the win”, said Szarek Lukasz, player from Komarno.
