KAMNIK – SK Zadruga Aich/Dob defeated Mladost Ribola from Kaštela 3-0 in the first match of the second round in the MEVZA league tournament in Kamnik.
In the match of two teams that lost their games of the first day of the Kamnik tournament, the volleyball players from Dob were better. In the opening set, the Croatians performed better for a long time. In the tied finale of first part, Aich/Dob was the first to reach the set ball, but Lampros Pitakoudis then took advantage of the second with a block. SK Zadruga had some problems only in the first set, and in the following, despite a large number of their own mistakes, they won both sets.
On the serve of Arwin Kopschar, Aich scored six consecutive points in the second set to take a 12-6 lead and did not let go of the high advantage. The third set was practically decided at the very beginning when after two consecutive blocks by SK Zadruga players, it was 7-1 for the Austrian national champions. The Croats came close to three points behind a few times, but unsuccessfully they didn’t win eventually the third set. Aich/Dov defeated the team from Kaštela without their best player, the Greek opposite Anastasios Aspiotis
Tomorrow, at 3 p.m., the team from Dob will play Spartak from Myjava.
