Austrian Women’s volleyball team Oberbank Steelvolleys Linz Steg grabbed victory in their first match of Middle European League (MEVZA).
Austrian side won 3-2 (18-25, 24-26, 25-23, 25-17, 15-10) in a thriller of a match against Slovenian Nova KBM Branik Maribor. Oberbank was two sets down but they ended up winning after huge comeback and their head coach Facundo Morando didn’t hide the joy.
“It was a really difficult match for my team because we lost first two sets. I am so proud of my team. They made very good job. Very important victory for my team. That’s great. I’m impressed”, said Morando.
Maribor’s player Martina Serramelera couldn’t hide her disappointment.
“Unfortunately we lost the match. We made a lot of mistakes today. I feel so sad right now. I have no words”, said Serramelera.
