ACH Volley LJUBLJANA extended their winning streak in the men’s MEVZA League to three games in a row. The defending champions celebrated an away sweep (25-20, 25-20, 25-19) over underdogs Union Raiffeisen WALDVIERTEL this Friday evening. As a result, Slovenia’s dominant side for recent years top the charts on nine points, while Austria’s national league runners-up were not able to claim a single point for the standing of the competition so far. ACH Volley’s Bozidar Vucicevic topped the scorers on a total of 17 points, as Lukasz Szarek from the hosts recorded 11 to his name.
“ACH Volley was very well prepared and deserved to win. We can learn a lot from these matches; that’s for sure. To keep up with such high-quality teams, it takes tactical discipline that we did not have today”, Union WALDVIERTEL head coach Zdenek Smejkal explained.
