The 2026 MEVZA Beach Volley Tour stop in Bibinje came to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, as the tournament champions were crowned following an exciting final day of competition featuring the semifinals, bronze medal matches, and gold medal matches in both the women’s and men’s tournaments.
After five days of high-level beach volleyball on the Croatian coast, Israel’s Gonzalez/Danenberg and Austria’s Klemen/Holzinger emerged as the champions of the Bibinje stop.
The women’s competition culminated in a final between the tournament’s top two seeded teams, Israel’s Gonzalez/Danenberg and Hungary’s Honti-Majoros/Posztos-Szabó.
The Hungarian duo started strongly and took the opening set 21-15, but the top-seeded Israelis responded in impressive fashion. Gonzalez/Danenberg dominated the second set 21-12 before carrying their momentum into the deciding tiebreak, where they secured a 15-9 victory to complete the comeback and lift the title.
Earlier in the day, both finalists advanced through the semifinals in straight sets. Honti-Majoros/Posztós-Szabó defeated fellow Israelis Dave/Lavie 21-13, 21-15, while Gonzalez/Danenberg overcame the Czech pair Novotna/Mrkvickova 21-15, 21-14.
The bronze medal went to Dave/Lavie, who closed their tournament with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-16) victory over Novotna/Mrkvickova.

The men’s tournament delivered another impressive performance from Austria’s Klemen/Holzinger, who completed a remarkable run to the title as the sixth-seeded team.
In the semifinals, the Austrians produced one of the standout performances of the tournament by defeating the top-seeded Czech pair Semerad/Stocek in three sets. After dropping the opening set 10-21, Klemen/Holzinger bounced back emphatically, winning the next two sets 21-13 and 15-11 to secure their place in the final.
Awaiting them were Luxembourg’s Weber/Hilbert, who advanced after defeating Austria’s Sponer P./Petutschnig in straight sets (22-20, 21-14).
The final proved to be a one-sided affair, with Klemen/Holzinger maintaining their excellent form to claim a convincing 2-0 victory (21-14, 21-15) and the Bibinje crown.
The bronze medal match saw top seeds Semerad/Stocek respond well to their semifinal disappointment, defeating Sponer P./Petutschnig 2-0 (21-17, 21-13) to secure third place.
