The 4th edition of the GRANDEN Youth Festival brought together more than 1,000 participants in Liptovsky Mikulas last weekend, once again confirming the growing popularity of youth volleyball in Slovakia.
Held on June 20 in the Demanova district of Liptovsky Mikulas, the event transformed the local football complex into a vibrant volleyball venue filled with young athletes, coaches, parents and supporters throughout the day. A total of 90 teams competed in 3-a-side and 4-a-side formats, creating one of the biggest youth volleyball gatherings in the region.
Over the years, the SVF GRANDEN Youth Festival has become one of Slovakia’s most important youth volleyball events, focusing not only on competition but also on promoting teamwork, friendship and a positive connection to sport among children.

Among the special guests at this year’s festival was Slovak national team player Zuzana Sepelova, who joined participants for an autograph session and spent time with young volleyball fans.
Slovak Volleyball Federation President Marek Rojko highlighted the importance of the event and the strong support from the volleyball community.
“Every year we are delighted by the interest of clubs, players, and parents in the festival. When we see hundreds of children playing, competing, and at the same time enjoying a day full of volleyball, we know our work has meaning,” said Rojko.
He also thanked coaches, club officials, parents and everyone involved in the development of youth volleyball in Slovakia for helping create an environment in which future generations of players can grow.
SVF Director of IT and Competition Manager Filip Moravcik praised the atmosphere and participation numbers after the event.
“One thousand participants and 90 teams are clear proof that the idea of the festival has its place and meaning. We believe that all participants took home many sporting and personal experiences, and we are already looking forward to the next edition.”
At the GRANDEN Youth Festival, the focus was not placed on final rankings or results, but on participation and enjoyment of the game. Every child received a medal, a commemorative diploma and an event t-shirt, with the festival once again emphasizing inclusion, community and the joy of volleyball.
